STARBRIGHT World™ Kids Connecting to Kids: Now available for children in the United States who have
Transverse Myelitis

STARBRIGHT World™ is a private online computer network designed for seriously and chronically ill children and teens which is available in almost 100 children’s hospitals across North America. Children are able to make valuable connections with peers who are also experiencing the challenges of a serious illness. The challenges for these children do not stop when they leave the hospital; they are often unable to attend school and are in and out of the hospital for outpatient care, missing out on the day-to-day friendships at school.

With the help of America Online ® STARBRIGHT has expanded access to STARBRIGHT World into a child’s home for FREE. The program is still private and secure and solely used by seriously and chronically ill children who’ve been approved to access the system. STARBRIGHT World is available to children living in the United States and between the ages of 7 and 18.

The child will be able to exchange email and instant messages with other STARBRIGHT World users who are at home or in a hospital, and can join STARBRIGHT World chats. In addition, the child will have access to the games and Web sites that have been selected by STARBRIGHT.

STARBRIGHT is aware that not all children have access to a computer at home so, we have teamed up with the people of Dell Computers to support those families without a computer by offering a computer scholarship opportunity.

We have set up a link to STARBRIGHT World from the main page of our web site. This will take you to the STARBRIGHT homepage where you can take a virtual tour of STARBRIGHT World and learn more about the program. All of the information you will need to apply to become a member, as well as the necessary forms, are available from this site.  For more information on this program please contact STARBRIGHT at:
