Inviting Your Physicians and Therapists to the 2004 TMA/JHTMC Symposium We all want the best care and treatment for TM, recurrent TM, ADEM, and Devics; we want this for ourselves and our loved ones. Most of the people in the TM community have a number of medical professionals involved in the treatment of their symptoms, i.e., neurologists, physiatrists, urologists, physical therapists and occupational therapists. How important is it to you that these physicians and therapists have the most comprehensive understanding of your condition and also know the most recent developments in the techniques and therapies for managing your symptoms? We are excited to offer you and your medical professionals this educational opportunity. We would like to invite your physicians and therapists to attend the 2004 TMA/JHTMC Symposium in Baltimore. And we would encourage you to advocate for them to accept this invitation; be nice, be gentle, be diplomatic, but do strongly encourage them to attend. It is in your greatest interest that they come to this educational symposium. They will receive CME credits from Johns Hopkins. Not only will they be able to attend the presentations about the neuroimmunologic conditions and learn about the most up-to-date treatment practices for symptoms, they will also be able to talk to other physicians who are caring for TM patients and they will be able to meet many other people with TM and their caregivers. Now, how great would that be? Here is how you can help to make this happen. Please send us the names and postal addresses of all of your physicians and therapists. Be sure to identify their specialization (i.e., neurologist, physiatrist, urologist, PT or OT) along with their full name and complete postal address. We would prefer to receive this information electronically in an email message. If you do not have a computer or internet access, you may send this information in a letter. You should send this information as quickly as possible, as we will need time to compile the mailing lists. You have until the end of November to send us your physicians' and therapists' names and contact information. The JHTMC and Dr. Kerr will send them a personal letter of invitation to the symposium, along with the registration packet and program agenda. Please send your information via email to: dcapen[AT SIGN]myelitis.org If you send the information via the postal service, please mail it to: Debbie Capen Please remember to include your physician's and therapist's complete names and postal addresses. And please remember to include their medical specializations. This is a wonderful opportunity for us to increase the quality of care our members are receiving from the medical community. Please help us to take advantage of this great opportunity! |
